Co-Founder
Ken Anthony Moniz is recognized as one of radio's premier programmers of the last 30 years. He spent most of the 80s rocking the Bay Area at KSJO, and has managed content at dominant stations in San Antonio, Houston, St. Louis and at KLOS and KLSX in Los Angeles. His trophy case holds myriad awards including Billboards Station of the Year and Programmer of the Year. In 1995, Ken formed Radio Think Tank, a consulting and marketing company, and has continued working with some of the top rock based radio stations in the country.
An avid cigar smoker, Anthony Moniz hatched the idea of The Cigar Station in fall of 2010. Combining his expertise in radio and his love of fine cigars, he's excited to bring the perfect blend of cool tunes and premium smokes to music and cigar lovers worldwide.
Jim Robinson
Co-Founder
Jim Robinson began his multi-format radio programming career in Portland in the late 70s. His portfolio includes award winning stations in Portland, Seattle, San Antonio, Tampa, Sacramento and Minneapolis. He's mastered the fine points of the Rock, Soft Rock, Adult Alternative and Smooth Jazz formats.
Jim launched Radio Brandcasting, Inc. in 2005 to create custom branded online radio stations and is well-known in the industry for his work with CBS, Entercom and National Public Radio. "Music and cigars are my passions," says Robinson. "Bringing them together into a prosperous enterprise like The Cigar Station is my definition of success." It's his goal to make this a regular lifestyle destination for anyone living or aspiring to the good life.

Indianapolis Mayor Nixes Smoking Ban

As expected, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has vetoed a bill that would have expanded the city’s smoking ordinance, although the smoking ban debate there appears far from over. On Friday Feb 10th Ballard followed through on his vow to veto the smoking ban because he views the measure’s language pertaining to nonprofit private clubs and veterans halls as unfair.

The Punch Rare Corojo to be Re-Launched

March will kick off the relaunch of Punch Rare Corojo, an annual limited-edition line made by General Cigar Co. set to be available from March 1 to May 31. The brand is defined by an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper that General says is grown in limited quantity. (Read more)

FDA law, as passed by Congress in 2009, allows the agency to extend tobacco regulations to other tobacco products, including cigars and pipe tobacco. Currently, the FDA only regulates cigarettes, roll-your-own tobacco and smokeless tobacco products. (Read more)

Eddie Ortega of EOBrands is Stepping Down

Eddie Ortega, the man behind such boutique cigars as 601, Cubao and Murcielago, has stepped down as president of EOBrands Inc. and left his partnership with Eric Espinosa in order to strike out on his own. Ortega will be leaving EO and starting Ortega Cigars, a small company headquartered in Sunrise, Florida. (Read more)

General Contest Rules
The Cigar Station contests are open to legal residents of the United States and Canada. Void where prohibited by law. Prizes are non-transferable! Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes including federal income tax. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of another of equal or greater value. Rules are subject to change.
Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the cigar station, all participating sponsors, their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, staff, administrators, and assigns from any and all liability, loss, cost, damage, injury or death, including attorneys fees arising out of, relating to or in connection with participating in the promotion/contest and/or accepting the prize. Employees, those domiciled with, and the immediate families of employees of The Cigar Station, and participating sponsors are ineligible.
The Cigar Station monthly winners contest rules
Each month official members of the cigar station are eligible to win prizes like fine cigars, cigar event tickets, smoking accessories and other published prizes on The Cigar Station and its website. Only The Cigar Station members 18 years and older are eligible to win the monthly prizes.
Monthly winners will be chosen by a random drawing by The Cigar Station management on the final day of the month, The winner will be notified by e-mail and winners name will be posted at www.thecigarstation.com.
